Growth performance and some haematological parameters of ornamental striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) fed on dietary nucleotide
Authors
Abstract:
The effects of dietary nucleotide (NT) on growth performance and some haematological parameters of striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) were investigated. Different levels of the NT (0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1%) in the diet were used for 10 weeks starting on the fish weighted (1.52 ± 0.11 g). The results showed that NT supplementations did not improve final weight, weight gain, food conservation ratio as well as specific growth rates of striped catfish (P>0.05). Among all growth evaluated parameters, only the condition factor was significantly improved in fish fed on 0.75 and 1% of NT in comparison to control (P0.05). However, some significant fluctuations were observed in the haematological parameters within groups of fish fed on different levels of NT (P

full textintestinal microbiota of striped catfish, pangasianodon hypophthalmus (sauvage, 1878) fed on dietary nucleotide
the aim of this study was to assess the effects of nucleotide on intestinal microbiota of striped catfish, pangasianodon hypophthalmus . different levels of the nt (0, 0.25. 0.5, 0.75 and 1 % weight per weight, ww -1 ) were added to basal diet and then randomly allocated to triplicate groups of fish with average initial weight (1.52±0.11 g) for 10 weeks. at the end of the experiment, at least 1...
full textHistopathological changes in various tissues of striped catfish, Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, fed on dietary nucleotides and exposed to water-borne silver nanoparticles or silver nitrate
The objective of this paper focused on the ffects of dietary nucleotides (NT) on histopathological alternations of striped catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, after exposure to water-borne silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and silver nitrate (AgNO3). Fish were fed with a diet containing nucleotide (0.75%) or control diet for 10 weeks and then divided into 3 experiments including control, 20 µ...
full texteffects of long term dietary administration of β-glucan on the growth, survival and some blood parameters of striped catfish, pangasianodon hypophthalmus (siluriformes: pangasiidae)
the present experiment was undertaken to study the effect of different dosages of β-glucan on the growth, survival and physiological responses in juvenile striped catfish ( pangasianodon hypophthalmus ). over nine weeks of feeding fish with a diet containing 0, 0.5, 1 and 2% β-glucan (as control, g1, g2 and g3 group, respectively), some blood parameters such as serum lysozyme activity, total pr...
full textThe effects of dietary Zhumeria majdae extract on growth indices, hematology and immunology of catfish Pangasianodon hypophthalmus
Low survival at early stages of life is of great concern for fish culturists. Considering the effects of herbal immunostimulants on innate immune response and growth improvement of aquatic animals, the impacts of a native herb of Hormozgan province named Zhumeria majdae extract on growth indices and immunology of catfish fingerlings Pangasianodon hypophthalmus with mean weight of 1.27±0.24 were...
full textQuality of Antimicrobial Products Used in Striped Catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) Aquaculture in Vietnam
Antimicrobial usage is common in Asian aquaculture. This study aimed to determine the quality of antimicrobial products used by Vietnamese striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) farmers. Twenty one antimicrobial products (11 products contained a single antimicrobial and 10 products contained a mixture of two different antimicrobials) commonly used by catfish farmers were obtained from so...
